Festival guide

Below is a guide to beer festivals in or near Sheffield that we are aware of over the coming months. While we believe the information is correct, we advise checking with the venue/organisers before making any special journeys.

CAMRA festival listings can also be found on the national CAMRA events page whilst commercially run festivals are featured at beer-festival-calendar.co.uk.

During 2026 all CAMRA organised festivals are offering free entry for CAMRA members (note you may still need to buy/hire a glass and/or book in advance – see individual festival websites for details)

Eccyfest

Fri 17 – Sun 19 Apr

The Spring edition of the event where a number of venues along Ecclesall Road collaborate to offer a pub crawl with a variety of different beers to try at each stop. Grab a stamp card and if you visit all the participating venues you get entered into a prize draw.

Victoria & Brunswick, Derby

Wed 15 – Sat 18 Apr

These two pubs close to Derby railway station team up for a joint beer festival.

Newcastle (CAMRA)

Wed 15 – Sat 18 Apr

The 48th Newcastle Beer & Cider festival is at Northumbria Students Union, championing great real ale and cider. With over 100 beers, 30 ciders and a selection of other beverages, there is sure to be something for everyone.

Rotherham Real Ale & Music

Wed 22 – Sat 25 Apr

The old Rotherham Real Ale & Music Festival makes a comeback at Magna! This is an independently organised charity fundraiser. Open Wednesday (short preview session) & Thursday evening from 6pm, all day noon to 11pm Friday & Saturday. Advance tickets available online. The Tram Train service will be stopping at the new Magna tram stop by then (except on Saturday night) or bus X3 stops on the main road outside Magna.

Rose & Crown, Chesterfield

Thu 23 – Sun 26 Apr

This pub in Brampton, Chesterfield, host the St George’s weekend edition of their beer festival featuring real ale and other craft beers, cider and live music.

Mallard, Worksop

Thu 23 – Mon 27 Apr

The St George’s edition of the Mallard’s regular programme of beer festivals, which sees a bar opening in the basement function room featuring an extended beer range and snacks. The pub is on the Sheffield bound platform of Worksop railway station (main entrance is via car park).

Old Nags Head, Edale

Fri 24 – Sun 26 Apr

Featuring 20 ales and traditional ciders along with live music, pub games and more. Timed to celebrate the 61st Anniversary of the mapping of the Pennine Way, the path that begins near the pub, which is about a 10 minute walk from Edale railway station.

Sheffield Students’ Union

Fri 1 – Sun 3 May

The annual beer & cider festival featuring a choice of 150 drinks plus street food and music spread across Bar One, Raynor Lounge and Union Gardens. Open to the public, with free entry, 2pm to 11pm each day.

Star, Beeston

Thu 30 Apr – Sun 3 May

This pub in Beeston, near Nottingham, hosts a beer festival with around 100 beers! To get there by train from Sheffield change at either Derby or Nottingham, regular services operate.

Hope Valley

Fri 1 – Mon 4 May

The regular bank holiday weekend beer & cider festival hosted at the Old Hall Hotel in Hope. This features a marquee taking over part of the car park with a festival bar, food stalls (in addition to the pub, restaurant and team room menus) and seating. There is also a programme of live music and DJs, in the beer tent during the afternoon and inside the pub in the evening. Buses 173 and 272 go past the pub or it is a short walk from Hope railway station. For more information see their socials or website.

Barrow Hill Rail Ale

Thu 14 – Sun 17 May

A beer & music festival set in the fairly unique and atmospheric setting of a working railway roundhouse near Chesterfield. The bars feature a range of up to 400 beers plus cider, gin and more whilst outside there is a food court with a variety of street food traders. Live entertainment features every day and on Friday and Saturday afternoon train rides are included in the ticket. Shuttle buses operate from Chesterfield railway station or the local Stagecoach bus 90 serves the venue. More information and advance tickets at railalefestival.com.

Leeds Hop City

Fri 15 – Sat 16 May

Hosted at Northern Monk Refectory. Regular trains and coaches run Sheffield to Leeds.

Furnace, Derby

Wed 20 – Sun 24 May

pub festival featuring 30 real ales, 12 craft kegs and 10 real ciders. Friday and Saturday also features live music and street food.

Skipton (CAMRA)

Thu 21 – Sat 23 May

Keighley & Craven CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) is delighted to present the 18th  Skipton Beer Festival. The event will be held in the historic Town Hall, High Street, Skipton at the following times, with payment on the door: Thursday & Friday: 11am to 10pm, Saturday: 11am to 8pm. Entry £4 (free for members). The event will feature 10 real ales on handpumps, plus 50 on traditional gravity, a selection of real ale on KeyKeg, and a range of real cider and perry. The choices will reflect the local area, the wider county of Yorkshire, and a few carefully chosen gems from further afield. More details on their website.

Lincoln (CAMRA)

the 44th Lincoln Beer Festival will again be held in the atmospheric Southside, formerly St Katherine’s Church, offering a range of real ale, cider & perry.

Hope Valley

Fri 22 – Mon 25 May

Cow Shed, Millers Dale

Sat 23 – Sun 24 May

The event space at the farm shop, cafe and bar on Beltonville farm hosts a beer festival.

Red Lion, Matlock

Fri 29 – Sat 30 May

The Red Lion at Matlock Green (the X17 bus from Sheffield stops there on its way into the town centre), which is also home to Moot Ales microbrewery, host their annual beer festival in the pub’s beer garden. It features a range of real ales and other craft beers, cider & gin, street food and music. The festival is open from midday to 8pm both days with the pub itself open until 11pm.

One Valley, Dronfield

Sat 6 Jun

A fantastic multi venue party across a number of pubs, clubs and breweries in and near Dronfield featuring beer, music and food! All usually offer free entry. The majority of venues are walkable from Dronfield railway station, the rest are on local bus routes.

Barnsley (CAMRA)

Thu 11 – Sat 13 Jun

Barnsley CAMRA are running two beer festivals this year with this being the additional one, which is being held at the Barnsley Civic on Eldon Street in the town centre, just around the corner from the bus/train interchange. Regular trains run there from Sheffield along with buses 2 and X17. Open 4-9pm Thursday and midday to 9pm Friday and Saturday. Entry tickets cost £5 and include a souvenir glass.

Stockport (CAMRA)

Thu 18 – Sat 20 Jun

The Stockport Beer Festival is returning for its fourth time at the Stockport Guildhall, a Grade II listed building on Wellington Road South, from June 18 to 20. The Guildhall is a versatile venue with multiple rooms.

Sheaf View

Fri 19 – Sun 21 Jun

This pub in Heeley hosts the summer edition of their regular beer festival, which features a pop up bar in the conservatory and further festival beers in the kiosk outside.

Loxley

Fri 19 – Sun 21 Jun

The annual beer festival at the Wisewood Inn, home of Loxley Brewery. This sees a marquee out back with beer and entertainment alongside the patio and garden. Pub food available.

Heeley City Farm

Sat 20 Jun

Fundraising event featuring food, drink, music, stalls and animals!

Swinton

Thu 2 – Sat 4 Jul

The annual fundraiser for St Margaret Church in Swinton, near Rotherham. There is a railway station on the edge of Swinton or bus 221 (Rotherham-Doncaster) goes past the venue.

Merchant Adventures, York

Fri 3 – Sat 4 Jul

The annual charity fundraiser event.

Smithfield, Derby

Old Shoe

The annual in house beer festival featuring brewery bars spread across their own venue and Sheffield Plate food hall’s function room. Advance tickets required.

The annual beer festival organised to raise funds for the local Scout group which also features food, live music and a family fun day with bouncy castle and face painting for the kids. Bus 53/53a runs to Bolsover from Sheffield.

The bars in these two adjacent rural pubs, located a 10-15 minute walk from Chinley station, are supplemented by pop up festival bars both in the Old Hall and its beer garden to offer a large range of cask ales along with food and music. An engine or two from Buxworth Steam Festival will also be dropping in too!

We’re back at Kelham Island Museum for our 50th Steel City Beer & Cider Festival featuring about 200 different cask ales plus other craft beers in keg, bottle and can along with traditional cider & perry, live music, games, street food traders and more.
