Brewery Bits

The 3 October, an unseasonably warm, sunny day, saw Intrepid Brewery and High Peak Cider jointly host a tap yard event. High Peak Cider have recently moved from Furness Vale to Vincent Works in Brough, near Bradwell – a few doors down from Intrepid! Both producers opened their premises with a pop up bar showcasing a range of their beers and ciders with tables out in the yard. As is usual at these events Sunshine Pizza Oven were trading there too!

Seasonal beers appearing from Acorn Brewery in October included Sinister Sparkler (4.2% ABV lightly ginger spiced oatmeal stout) and Phantasm (4.2% ABV hoppy pale ale).

Things have been quite busy at Blue Bee Brewery with recent brews including a 5% Nectaron and Riwaka hopped pale ale, version 93 of American Five Hop, Ginger Beer, Oat Stout (5% ABV), single hop Simcoe (3.8% ABV) and a 6% ABV hazy IPA called A Little Cup of Ambition. They have also brewed one of the winning beers from the home brew competition organised for the Steel City Beer & Cider Festival held at Kelham Island Museum 21-24 October.
