Welbeck Abbey Brewery

As we wistfully leave summer behind, we are winding down to a slower pace with these Autumnal specials. Cubitt’s Voyage is an adventurously-hopped New World Pale sitting pretty at 3.5%. This distinctly fruity pale ale is a tribute to Captain Cubitt taking the Duke of Portland on it’s maiden voyage to New Zealand in 1851. The perilous journey took 100 days, after which the ship safely arrived in the Waitemata region of Auckland. We’ve been bold using New Zealand hops in a super low strength brew that still packs a punch. Our second offering is The Governor, a robust dark beer at 5.5%. In honour of the first Duke of Newcastle, this Black IPA highlights the prestigious and important role he took as Governor to the seven year old Prince of Wales who would later become King Charles II. Black in colour but deceptively hoppy, this dark IPA has a touch of light roast to give body and depth as a backbone for a blend of resinous American hops. Last but by no means least we have our next offering from our Foraged & Found range. #GrowYourOwn is a 4.0% Green-hopped pale, brewed with hops donated from local hedgerows and gardens. Using fresh hops enables us to create a crisp English Pale Ale with clean herbal notes.
