The 65 bus: This bus runs from Sheffield to Buxton via Grindleford, Stoney Middleton, Foolow, Tideswell and Millers Dale. We’ll be using it to visit a few of the country pubs along the route starting with the furthest one away, the Anglers Rest in Millers Dale. Bus departs Sheffield Interchange at 11:35. A Derbyshire Wayfarer all day bus pass costs £9, buy from the bus driver or on the Travelmaster app.
RambAle – Woodhouse
12pm Sat 22 Aug
Meet at the Stag in the centre of Woodhouse at noon, for a walk to the Oxbow, Angel and Royal, finishing there between 3 and 4pm. Get there on bus 30 or 52, alternatively a 10 minute walk away are buses 7, 24, 25, 52a plus Woodhouse railway station.

Social – Shuffleboard tournament

A now annual tradition, an opportunity for members to get together for a social in the Kelham Island area the month before our beer festival takes place. The games take place upstairs at the Gardeners Rest and the knockout tournament has prizes to play for! Afterwards we’ll head on to a few other local pubs. Our members voted the Crow Inn on Scotland Street, on the edge of Sheffield City Centre, as our September Pub of the Month winner, join us for a beer or two as we present their certificate.

We continue work planning our 50th Steel City Beer & Cider Festival. The meeting is held upstairs at the Gardeners Rest. Get there on bus 7/8 which stop outside the pub, alternatively it is a 5-10 minute walk from Infirmary Road tram stop.

With Autumn arriving we are back in the City of Sheffield for our pub tour socials and this month we’ll be taking a wander around Crookes and Walkley, starting in the Old Grindstone. Bus 52/52a goes there.

RambAle – Worksop to Ranby
11:30am Sat 26 Sep
Our RambAles combine a gently paced walk with a pub or two. This one is a little outside our area but continues with an ongoing theme of the Chesterfield Canal! We set off walking from the Mallard Inn at Worksop railway station at 1pm for 5.5 mile walk to the Chequers Inn at Ranby, mostly along the canal towpath. We return to Worksop by bus to catch a train back to Sheffield. The recommended train from Sheffield is at 11:38, which offers about 4o mins to relax with a beer in the Mallard before the walk.

A gentle evening out as it is the week before our beer festival! We head up to Fuggle Bunny’s regular Friday evening tap opening, it is a short walk from Halfway tram & bus terminus (Blue route tram or 120 bus).
Steel City Beer & Cider Festival

At Kelham Island Museum. Volunteer staff also needed on site to help set up from Sunday 18 October and take down on Sunday 25 October. The festival features a huge range of beers plus cider & perry, street food, entertainment and more.
