The Royal Oak in Deepcar has reopened.

The Dove & Rainbow (Harts­head Sqare in the City Centre) now has Robinson’s Iron Maiden Trooper in bottles as well as on handpull, to avoid disappointment on the occasions when the cask version has run dry. And in the run up to Christmas you can expect the usual seasonal suspects (Wychwood Bah Humbug and Hardy & Hansons Rocking Rudolf) to put in a guest appearance, as well as a few surprises. There’ll also be a series of local Guest Stouts and Porters from SIBA to warm you up throughout the winter months. Don’t forget your CAMRA membership card to claim 10% off all local ales.

The Fulwood Inn on Tapton Park Road has had a refurbishment and change of name, reopening as the Florentine on 29th November offering food and accommodation . On the bar, as well as the usual well known brands they will be offering a local guest ale, starting with Abbeydale Moonshine. This is part of the roll out of the new Revere Pub Company, owned by Marstons, all the pubs in this chain will be premium standard with hotel rooms, freshly cooked food and real ale.

The George & Dragon at Holmesfield has added Bradfield Farmers Bitter alongside the Farmers Blonde, this is on the pump vacated by Oakwell Bitter when the brewery closed.

Sheffield City Council has approved planning permission for a revised proposal from Sainsburys to demolish the Bradway Hotel and replace it with one of their local stores. The initial refusal of planning permission was because the external design of the store wasn’t an appropriate replacement of a landmark local building and didn’t fit with the area, councilors have declared the revised design acceptable. The pub has spent the last couple of years closed and boarded up after failing as an Enterprise Inns lease. This leaves two other pubs in Bradway, the Castle Inn, also an Enterprise Inns pub and the Old Mother Redcap, a Samuel Smiths tied pub.

An application has been submitted to transform the Pheasant on Barnsley Road into a KFC outlet. The plans include a 49-space car park behind with access from Hatfield House Lane. The new building would have stone walls and a red aluminium entrance, plus large windows.

The Hearty Oak at Dronfield Woodhouse is reported to have closed and be on the market.

Abbeydale Brewery, owners of the Rising Sun, Nether Green pub in Nether Green are seeking permission for an extension and alterations to create a bigger lounge and kitchen and new toilets.

Previously advertised as opening on Sunday 8th September, the Wagon & Horses, Chapeltown is now advertised by Wetherspoons as opening on Tuesday, 8th October 2013

Building work has finished on the conversion of the Alexandra Hotel, at the junction of Exchange Place and Castlegate into a 23 apartment complex, complete with gym.
